Biomes:
introduction |
Biomes
are regions of the world with similar climate (weather,
temperature), animals and plants. Both land and water
biomes can
be identified.
There are five major types of biome: aquatic, desert,
forest, grassland and tundra. Scientists also divide
these up into more specific biomes (e.g. temperate
forest and rainforest), but they can't agree on how many
of these there are!
Find out more about biomes from these pages and links.
